The tower of the Citadel of Jerusalem, also known as the Tower of David; actually constructed by Herod in 37-34 BCE. During Ottoman rule, the tower housed Turkish troops, who added a mosque and minaret (the rounded tower from which the Muslim faithful are called to pray).
